Starting To Compose (1994)
Around March of 1994 Octamed 4 found its way onto CU Amiga magazine disk #80. I installed it on my Amiga and started to compose. It could do 8 tracks but my Amiga unfortunately wasn't able to make good use of that ability very well so I settled for using 4 tracks. Shortly thereafter I purchased Octamed 5 and continued to compose with the amazing tracker program.
There happened to be a park near where I lived in the city and I would record the progress of my composing onto tape and go to the park and swing while listening to my music. Yes, swing on a swingset. Back then I was 6' 3" and about 175 Lbs and I loved swinging even though I was already 20. I would use that time to think about my songs and get ideas for where to go with them next. All of this was instrumental in my early composing in the summer of 1994. This was the time when my band name and logo were born. I originally called myself Pendulum but when I found out another band had taken that name I expanded my name to Pendulum Dreams.
Shortly after christmas of 1994 I got laid off from a job and was unable to find anything in the next two months. Out of money and jobless I was forced to move home. So back to Rimbey I went.
First Recording Studio (1995)
I turned by bedroom into my own little recording studio, purchased a mixing board and continued to compose. When I hit 25 songs not including some of the earlier stuff which wasn't worth keeping (but I probably have recorded on tape still) I decided to stop. My Amiga had served its purpose. I had a bunch of songs composed with only 4 tracks and though I thought some of them were really good for the equipment used, they just weren't good enough to release to anyone.
First CD (1999)
In late 1999 RBF Software released Octamed SoundStudio V1 for Windows and I quickly purchased it and started enhancing my songs. Shortly after its release Octamed SoundStudio was renamed to Med Soundstudio as the number 8 had nothing to do with it anymore. I bought a Creative Sound Blaster Live! Platinum and I worked fast (rushed) to the goal of creating my first CD. I bought a CD burner so I could create my master CD and in December 1999 I sent it off to be pressed. Just before Christmas I received 1000 copies of my CD.
Into The Future (2009)
Time passing has changed a number of things with myself and it came time to start work on a second CD. The album name originally developed back in 1999 (That Which Dreams Find) seems to fit the ideas I have at this point in time so it remains.
I have been thinking about what kind of music I want to have on my second CD. I have been thinking about how I went about composing in the past and what I should try. The idea is to make the best songs I can and the proceedure to do so should not be rushed. Not this time around.
